Take advantage of the Home Renovation Tax Credit!
Now's a great time to go ahead with that long awaited window/door renovation project. The federal budget offers a temporary new tax credit for your home renovations, provided you do them before the end of this program.
Effective until January 31, 2010, homeowners can claim a Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC) for 15 per cent of renovation expenses between $1000 - $10,000. This means for any purchase of window or door replacement invoiced by Jan. 31/ 2010 you are eligible for 15% refund to a maximum of $1350.00
The tax credit applies to a variety of home improvements, including window and door replacement. Routine repairs and maintenance do not qualify.
